SQUAWKERS PERMITS – ALL SEEM TO BE FINALLY DELIVERED!
Well – that was a nightmare. So many of our flock had Hotmail and Gmail accounts, the servers thought the Squawkers’ Permits were spam. However, since Wednesday, there have only been a few queries. Most have related to names so familiar I thought you were “old Crows” and not “fledglings”. Shows what happens in three years since we last nested.
It seems during that stressful time, using my favourite template, one error (oops red faced) …. please take notice of the map on page 2 of your permit. It seems a few crept through … where I put use the Copland Street gate but the map was Tasman Road. The Map is correct – the word might be wrong. If yours is wrong and you need it redone, please just email and it will be fixed.
The program is progressing really well now all that email ##D%^#D seems to have settled.
- Lesley will be in The Rookery with her Euchre Tournament and Championships again.
- Marg B is interested in having a mahjong game – if you have. a set you might like to bring it too and create a new activity. Let us know if you want to play and we can look to allocate a spot in the program.
- Robyn is again enabling you to pamper your nails – there will be a maximum of 12 per session – 1 pm on Friday, Saturday, Tuesday or Wednesday. If you need a little pampering, please email with your preferred day to ensure your place.
- A relaxation session will follow – you should by then be totally relaxed.
- Crafty Crows are now composing their class details and later this week you will be able to pre-book your spot. No payment is required until you pick up your kit on Friday April 15 once everyone is on site.
- Similarly, Daddy Day Care is preparing the woodwork kits and also later this week will have bookings available – prepayment is required as usual so we know how many to make up – kits are collected on the Friday afternoon.
- Pre-booking opens via the one Crow Chronicle and gives everyone equal opportunity to get in for the topic of your choice for either Crafty Crows and Daddy Day Care.
- BBQ’s Galore gas bottle refills – once again there will be a pick up and delivery service from and to the information desk for gas bottles thanks to our local friendly gas people. Prices will be advised in the program but as the old crows will remember they are super competitive. You will need to have your empty bottle name tagged and delivered to the Crow Info Desk by 9 am on Saturday April 16 and it will be returned after 4 pm the same day. The same service will be available on Tuesday April 19.
- Our First Aid team will be taking blood pressure reading and doing diabetes checks each day. Your chance to get yourself monitored in a non threatening environment where you should be having fun.
- Speaking of First Aid, we are aware we are an ageing demographic so if you need to call first aid, please make sure you put on your vehicle’s emergency flashers, lights etc etc so they can find you easily and quickly.
Thanks for your response on the thought of auctioning the 2020 Disc Bowls medals – they will definitely go for silent auction with proceeds to the B-Loss Charity.
There will also be a raffle for Breast Cancer and the Cancer Council will be giving two seminars on prevention. Amongst other seminars will be Road Safety NSW and quite a few more interesting topics, even about computer scams. Of course Rod Hannifey and his big bugger truck will be there Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. The variety we can create seems to be endless.

Games will again be Petanque – Ladder Golf and Disc Bowls. Disc Bowls will again be the Mixed Pairs, Ladies and Mens Triples and Championship singles. If you have never played, that’s no problem, there will be a “how to” for all our games, pétanque, ladder golf and disc bowls.
Thanks for taking the time to read all these Chronicles. It’s a great way of keeping you all informed.
Don’t hesitate to email any queries and they will be answered asap. As Bob and I will be out doing Daddy Day Care important “stuff” in the shed, with a few helpers coming next week to make sure all the various parts are in the kits, would really appreciate emails not phone calls for the next few days.
Can’t wait till we all catch up again – Take care till we next “squawk”
Chrissy
