Stone the Crows Festival has a permanent nesting place at the Australian Clay Target Association grounds, which are situated on a large site bounded by Copland Street and Tasman Road, Wagga Wagga. The ACTA grounds are just about 4 kms from the CBD.
The ACTA grounds have two shower and toilet blocks, two dump points, a clubhouse, BBQ/food court area, and lots of grassed areas, some with shady trees, others with clear skies. Powered sites are limited in numbers and capacity, meaning that you can’t run every appliance in your RV at the one time or the fuses will blow. There is plenty of power for lights, refrigerators, TV but you can’t run a jug, a microwave and a toaster all at once. Air conditioners are only permitted for health reasons and must be approved by our first aid team. Some points are 10 amp, the majority 15 amp. If you are allocated a site with a 10 amp point, it is your responsibility to ensure that your vehicle and all leads meet safety standards for connection.
Water taps are scattered through the grounds so you can top up your water tanks by joining hoses with your neighbours, and to be to fair to all, no one can stay hooked up to a water tap during the Festival – this will be policed. These grounds do not operate as a caravan park so we all need to work together with the facilities available. Your assistance is appreciated.
Grey water can be trickle disbursed to ground as it is used. In that way bad bacteria do not breed. Please ensure that you rotate your grey water hose around your individual site and do not swamp your neighbour’s plot. You do not have to take to a holding tank by bucket or other means.
We were delighted to christen The Range Convention Centre in 2018. This magnificent building contains a fully licensed bar and restaurant (there are regulations that apply to food and drink within the Convention Centre by which we and our flock must abide), an auditorium which will seat 1200 in theatre formation or 650 in restaurant style, there are 6 large screens so you can see the stage area clearly wherever you sit plus a long verandah to sit and eat or just ponder what’s on. additional facilities ensure that toilets are never far away if the need happens.
Food vendors include South Wagga Lions Club and Nathan’s licenced bar and restaurant in the Range Convention Centre, together with Toby and U-Wanna Coffee. There are opportunities for food vendors trading for either 4 or 7 days, or other days by arrangement.
Your Squawker’s Permit will nominate what time and where you should enter the grounds. Arriving in the correct time slot will mean the time between arrival and your being set up on site will be minimised. If you turn up before your nominated time, you will be asked to park until your time group. If you arrive late, you will have to wait until the siting team are available to put you in.
First timers are invited to come in for orientation on Thursday afternoon. The majority of the returning flock come in Good Friday morning. Volunteers’ arrivals are staggered depending on the area in which they help make the Festival such a success.
You can always have a cuppa and find new friends while you wait.
If you have any queries, please email us.
Food traders are welcome to apply to join in the feeding of the hungry flock. We do have a confirmed coffee van and ice cream van.
If your business is interested in trading the whole of the festival or just a couple of days, we are adaptable as they say variety is the spice of life and our attendees like not to cook and spread their meals around the various food vendors.
Click here to access a traders application form in either word document trade-application form or pdf trade-application form format.
General traders are also welcome to share their wares through the same document.
For ease of entry and to alleviate traffic disruption, two entry points are utilised when the flock arrives – one through 74 Tasman Road and the other through 308 Copland Street.
Once everyone is sited, the only point of entry and exit is the gate at 74 Tasman Road.
